Applications

Pharmaceuticals:
Osmotic Diuretic: Reduces intracranial pressure (brain edema) and intraocular pressure (glaucoma) by increasing urine output.

Food Industry:
Added to chewing gum, sugar-free candies, and baked goods for texture and sweetness.
Used in low-calorie beverages and dietary supplements as a sugar substitute.

Cosmetics:
Formulated into moisturizers and serums for its humectant properties (attracts and retains skin moisture).
